Carbon Age: Excerpt 01
It's an overcast sort of day, not exactly foggy, but with enough moisture in the air to dull the colors of faraway objects. Not that there were that many colors to begin with, there's a cracked gray street, gray-green pine trees with gray trunks, and sprawling gray industrial buildings with signs written in English.
Which is all very confusing because this space is supposed to be made of the dreams of a million abducted children from South America. Rainforests, warm busy cities, and Spanish or Portuguese speaking cartoons seemed more likely for the children to dream about than a dreary day in either England or North America.
